New Year Eve (Daytime)
A group of classmates get together for New Years almost every year. This year they gathered at the home of Margaret (White) (class of 63) and Jack Heinesh (Class of 1958) and on New Year Eve they went with me for my world famous tour of the San Antonio Missions. We covered four of the Missions leaving out going to the Alamo since everyone had seen it many times.
L to R: James Merkel (62), Malford Brehm (62), Barbara (Novasad) Merkel (61), Jack Heinesh (58), Vivian (Sandifer) Brehm (63) and Margaret (White) Heinesh (63).
We had a great time and they learned many important facts about the Missions that they had never heard before.
Thailand
I went to visit Duane Brooks (class of 64) who is now living in Thailand. I was over there for two months and had a great time. Duane left SCHS in our Freshman year (1961) when his Father was transferred. In 1969 while I was stationed in Udorn Thailand, I ran across Duane who was also stationed there. We shared a bungalow for about 9 months until Duane transferred back to the states. I lost contact with Duane for about 25 years until we started having the reunions and his Sister Gerri (Brooks) Day (1959) came to one of the reunions and gave me his telephone number. Duane moved back to Thailand about three years ago and he loves it over there.
